魚沼市は越後三山（駒ケ岳、中ノ岳、八海山）をはじめとする名山に囲まれています。水も豊富で山紫水明のまちともよばれています。魚沼の四季は美しく、紅葉のシーズンになると多くの観光客が魚沼市を訪れます。
Uonuma city is surrounded by very famous Mountains commencing with Etigo-Sanzan(Mt. Komagatake, Mt. Nakanodake and Mt.Hakkai-san). The city is also called Sanshi-Suimei-no-Machi or the city having outstanding natural beauty such mountains and rivers. The four seasons in Uonuma city are very beautiful and especially when it is tinted autumn leaves season, many sightseers visit here.
